Transmission Service – Maintenance / Rebuilt / Repair
Transmission King of Florida has been repairing and rebuilding automatic
and manual transmissions for over 30 years. Through proper diagnosis
our ASE certified transmission mechanics can determine if your transmission
needs to be repaired or rebuilt – saving you time and money!
Rebuilt Transmission – requires removing the transmission from the car and
complete disassembly. All parts are inspected and worn or damaged
parts are replaced. The transmission is then reassembled according to
factory specifications, usually along with gaskets, seals, clutches and
bands. It is then rebuilt and reinstalled. This is a custom
procedure done by a transmission specialist.
Repair – a repaired transmission is where one or more parts need to be
repaired or replaced. It could be a sensor or solenoid that failed,
but these parts can be replaced without dismantling the entire transmission.
Some leaks may also be able to be repaired. With a proper transmission
inspection, road test, and diagnosis will determine if it is a repair or a
rebuild. This alternative allows you to save on cost, but it may not
prevent other problems with your transmission that is unrelated to the fix.
Maintenance – proper maintenance of your transmission can prevent costly
repairs. Just like the oil in your car needs to be clean, so does your
transmission fluid. To see more about how you can care for the transmission
in your car or truck, see our tips for

Transmission Maintenance - Automatic and Manual
Automatic and manual transmission function differently – their purpose is
the same – MOVEMENT! A transmission is made up of hundreds of
complicated parts. Just as you care for yourself, this critical part
of your vehicle needs cared for as well with proper maintenance – starting
with transmission fluid, which serves many purposes: cooling,
lubricating, transmitting force and pressure. Basically it moves and
protects the transmission, so it is important that the transmission fluid is
clean. Proper maintenance can prevent a costly transmission build or
replacement.
» Change transmission fluid
checks and changes (varies by model)
» Standard transmission
fluid and filter change should be done every 12 months or 15,000 miles in
South Florida
» Fluid that smells burnt or
looks dirty should be changed – this can lead to further complications and
damages
If you are unsure when the last time you checked or changed your
transmission fluid, bring it into Transmission King and our transmission
mechanics will check it for you along with a FREE electronic diagnosis.
